Night Shots

These are some shots I took one night when it was still warm. We went to the base of the Statue of Liberty and I was hoping to get neat photos as the tour boats went under the bridge. The boats have lights that show you underneath bridges as you float along but I found out the bridge where we were is unattractive and not worth photos but I got a few shots of the statue and the Eiffel Tower. (Regarding my knee, I got what they called an infiltration where local anaesthetic is injected into the knee joint. It really hurt but seems to be helping. In part of the joint I no longer have the protective padding and that’s what led to the pain-the old bone against bone thing. Later the doctor will inject the product that provides a little protection. Maurice and I are going on what is called the “Cure” where various treatments, sort of spa like, are provided for things like arthritis in a couple of weeks. I’m interested to see how, and if, it helps.)

Pretty in the distance.
From behind.
I was in the wrong place to get the full tower flashing.
From down below. I found out that the base of the statue is sort of party central for young people at night. They had drinks and a lot of them were smoking and I guess it was like a free night club for them. They weren’t rowdy or anything but I noticed overflowing trash cans the next morning.

  1. That’s a lovely photo of the tower reflected in the Seine. Your “Cure” experiment sounds fascinating; if not medically successful it should at least be relaxing…but let’s hope for improvement for all ailments.
