I ventured out into the rain to go to the Pompidou Centre to see a Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit. I wouldn’t have gone, due to the weather, if I hadn’t already made a reservation. I’m glad I went. It was very nice. She had an interesting life which included a wild love affair and then marriage with Max Stieglitz, a photographer who also showed her work at his gallery. She eventually travelled to New Mexico and that is where she produced some of her most famous art, although she did do some great paintings in New York City. She died at the age of 90. I visited New Mexico, specifically Sante Fe, and saw the Georgia O’Keefe Museum and then went out into the desert to see Ghost Ranch where she lived and worked. It was an inspiring trip.
That roof with birds is the roof of another delightful museum. It is a small museum, free entrance, with work of Brancusi.
I didn’t know that!
I love the combination of O’Keeffe and the Pompidou Centre. Both originals, each in a unique way.
